The U.S. market has continued to defy the warnings from the market’s extreme overbought condition above long-term 200-day (40-week) moving averages; the high level of investor bullish sentiment; high level of insider selling; continuing evidence that the economy is still slowing; deteriorating corporate earnings; warnings from bellwether corporations; the still worsening recession in the eurozone, and even the warning from Fed Chairman Bernanke last week that the Fed may begin much sooner than previously expected to dial back the stimulus that has been so important in supporting the economy and stock market.

And of course there is Japan, a shocking 7.2% plunge last Wednesday, and another 5.2% last night.
