Portfolio Flash Alert: 6 New ETF’s Added…

With a number of key markets and financial instruments  turning intermediate bearish in our trend signal analytics model over recent days we are taking now this opportunity to start adding some sensible Exchange Traded Funds (ETF’s) to our beta 1.0 and beta 2.0 portfolios.

As a reminder, in finance, the beta (β) of a stock or portfolio is a number describing the relation of its returns with that of the financial market as a whole, or the underlying instrument – whichever the case may be.  A stock with a beta of 1 has returns that change, on average, in equal magnitude of the overall market’s or underlying instrument’s return. When the market’s return falls or rises by 1%, the stock’s return will fall or rise (respectively) by 1% on average.

We have decided to commence new portfolio additions with ETF’s that specifically target instruments that turned intermediate term bearish over the past several days and the typically duration of these signals is at least several months to a year or more.
